Modern Hojutsu Ryu

Hojutsu is the Japanese word for "the art of gunnery". Modern Hojutsu Ryu was developed to combine the modern technique of pistol shooting with the structure and training methodology of Japanese martial arts. Firearms proficiency is treated as a martial discipline rather than simply as recreational or technical shooting.

A combination of open hand, weapons, and hand gun technique.

On the Range and In the Dojo

As practiced today, Hojutsu combines modern handgun techniques with traditional Japanese budo. Training focuses primarily on handgun skills, while advanced practitioners may also train with rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, and precision rifles. Hojutsu also incorporates unarmed defense, impact weapons, edged weapons, and ground fighting. Traditional Japanese reigi (protocol and etiquette) is observed throughout training.

Class Time Table
